Per Scott’s post below, Connectwith St. Louis’ wrap up volunteer event is this Saturday.  Come on out to Stray Rescue downtown and help them put the finishing touches on their new home.  We’ll be rolling up our sleeves from 10am-1pm.  Then enjoying some BBQ afterwards at the BluCity Spaces to thank all of the volunteers.  Stray Rescue is a tremendous organization that puts the needs of our pets first, so let’s show them some love and make it a great event.  Go to the Connectwith site for more information:

Then on Tuesday, it’s FINALLY time to be an American, and vote!  No matter who you support, what’s most important is that you express your right and make it a priveledge as well.  Tuesday night, we’ll be watching the returns at Amesterdam Tavern on Morgan Ford.  They’ll be having drinks specials all night, and you can order in food from any one of the many restaurants that they are neighbors with on Morgan Ford.  The celebration will be going on all night, so come on out, and let’s watch history take place together!

Canadian dollar tumbles below US80 cents.

Mysteriously, just in time for winter.  Coincidence? I think not…

At SCiFest this year, the clever duo of Timandra Harkness and Harry Witchel informed us that there are seven rules to dating. But yesterday, via craigslist Missed Connections we find out that there is an eighth rule which is critical in today’s internet society… grammar!  Watch out guys. This may be more important than size, rock quality, and humor combined!

Morons with bad grammar – m4w
via craigslist | missed connections in st louis, MO on 10/17/08

Women that you find attractive probably won’t respond if they think you’re an idiot. Here are some lessons for you idiots who don’t know basic grammar:

“Your” is the possessive form of “you.” “Your car was black” is correct. “Your hot” is not correct. “You’re hot” is correct. “You’re” means “You are.”

“Would of” does not exist. “I would of talked to you” makes you sound like an idiot. “I would have talked to you” is correct. You’re a moron.

“I seen” also does not exist. If you say this, you should be killed. “I saw you at Starbucks” is correct. “I seen” makes no sense. Die if you say that.

There are SO MANY MORE mistakes you idiots make, but those are the main ones. Get a basic education, and maybe women will be more attracted to you.

The end.

So I’ve been seriously bad about not posting my blogs/Political thoughts/fears/drunken stories here over the last 6+ months.  Sorry.  No excuses other than I’ve just let life drive me recently, and many things have suffered.  However, I have continued my attempts at becoming a better cook.  More on that in a future blog.  Why I am here now?  To let you all know that we are planning the 3rd  ‘Let’s Elect a President’ Election Watching Party.  We pick a watering hole, order up some food and beverages, and sit around and watch the results pour in throughout the night.  Good conversation, without the political fighting that can normally go along with these party’s.  Leave your agenda at home, and join us for a night of Democracy!  Tuesday November 4th.

I’m working on a location right if you have a preference, feel free to leave it in the comments section.  Would like a place that is open to having the coverage audio turned on, versus just having the TV’s on in the background.  I’ll get back to you with more specifics.

Oh, and if you don’t like up anyway.  We won’t try and change your mind, promise!
